Review of Term 2

We have had another incredibly productive and positive term at Rainford Sixth Form. Back in September, some of our students visited our friends at Danish Sports college Sportefterskolen SINE. This term saw the second part of the exchange where 45 Danish students visited the Sixth Form for a day. The students took part in Sixth Form lessons, met the staff and students and the day culminated in an international football match where Rainford won 5-1.

As always it was wonderful to welcome back the staff and students and we are very much looking forward to visiting them again in Denmark later in the year.

We also visited the Liverpool convention center to attend the National Apprenticeship show. Here students had the opportunity to speak to apprenticeship providers from all over the country as well as the armed forces, the police, performing Arts courses and Universities.

Another highlight of the term was welcoming or friends from St Vincent’s school for visually impaired children. We have a long standing relationship with St Vincent’s and this year the Y12s decided to help the charity by hosting an enterprise event. Our carnival for lower school children included games, stalls and tombola and we managed to raise £300 for such a worthy cause.
