Hello! We are delighted to welcome you to Rainford Sixth Form and the first of many opportunities you will have to discover what we can offer you. The modern and purpose built Sixth Form provides for approximately 300 students: large enough to facilitate a broad range of subjects and experiences, yet still ensure all of our students are known as individuals and are personally supported. As a small, close-knit college, we have a strong focus on supporting our students to achieve not only their desired qualification, but their ambitions for the future as well.
Encouraging applications from our own Year 11s as well as students from surrounding areas, we offer over 25 traditional and vocational courses to choose from. You are therefore able to enjoy a package of courses suited to you and your chosen career route. With a strong belief in guiding our students to careers, not just courses, we find that the success rate for progression is excellent. Recent years have seen all of our students reaching their chosen destination upon leaving us and, this year, a record 38% of our Year 13s have received offers from Russell Group universities, putting many of our students in the country’s best universities.
Flourish through enrichment
Of course our good and improving results have been a factor in these recent successes, but we also pride ourselves in offering our students a wide range of bespoke enrichment activities and support to help prepare them for this success. Fortunately, due to our size, we are able to provide guidance and support on a one-to-one basis throughout a student’s two year journey. We also champion success and provide extracurricular opportunities that will develop students both academically and socially, developing crucial skills consistently sought by employers in an increasingly competitive world of employment.
Finally, with fantastic state of the art facilities and a range of zoned learning environments to suit every individual, the learning experience at Rainford Sixth Form is enjoyed and embraced by all of our students.
The Sixth Form team looks forward to helping you to ‘be brilliant’ and make your ambitions a reality, whilst you enjoy two unforgettable years along the way.
